Ásgeir Þór Árnason

Ásgeir Þór Árnason obtained a degree in law from the University of Iceland in 1983. He was granted a right of legal representation in the lower instance in 1986, and before the Supreme Court in 1994. He worked as an assistant to the District Commissioner of Austur-Skaftafellssýsla from 1883 to 1986, and since then has been a practising lawyer in Reykjavík. He was assistant to Supreme Court lawyer Kristján Stefánsson from 1984 to 1986, when he founded the law office Lögmál ehf with Supreme Court lawyer Óskar Magússon.

Einar Oddur Sigurðsson

Einar Oddur obtained a B.A. degree in law from the University of Iceland in 2006, and a Master degree from the same university at the beginning of 2010. He was an exchange student at the University of Konstanz, Germany, in 2008. He worked with the winding-up committee of Kaupthing Bank hf from 2009 to 2014, when he joined the law office Libra lögmenn ehf, and he has been active in legal practice from then on. From 2017 to 2023 he and lawyer Unnsteinn Örn Elvarsson had their practice at the law office E.S. Legal ehf, until they joined Lögmál ehf as partners in 2023.

Einar Oddur Sigurðsson

Hrefna Þórsdóttir graduated with a B.A. degree in law from Reykjavík University in 2011 and an LL.M. degree in law from the same university in 2014. She participated in an exchange program at the Faculty of Law at Stockholm University in Sweden in 2011–2012 and subsequently completed postgraduate studies there in European Law from 2012–2013, earning an LL.M. degree. Hrefna worked for nearly a decade at the City of Reykjavík, first in the Department of Property and Economic Development and later in the Office of the Mayor. She was admitted as a District Court Attorney in 2018. In 2024, Hrefna began practicing law independently under the name Novum Legal Services. In 2025, she joined Lögmál ehf. as a partner.

Magnús Óskarsson was granted a B.A. degree in law by the University of Iceland in 2006. He was an exchange student at the University of Copenhagen in 2006-2007 and obtained a Master degree in law from the University of Iceland in 2008. In 2010 he was awarded a LL.M. degree in company law from the New York University School of Law, and in 2021 was licensed to represent litigants in all New York judicial instances. He has worked with insurance companies and banks. In 2013 he joined Lögmál as a partner, becoming a Supreme Court lawyer in 2016.

Unnsteinn Örn Elvarsson LL.M.

Unnsteinn Örn was granted a B.A. degree in law from the University of Reykjavík in 2006 and a Master degree in law in 2009. He continued his studies at Stockholm University in Sweden in 2012-2013, where he was awarded a L.L.M. degree in the law of information technology. He was licensed as a representative in litigation in the district courts in 2009, in the intermediate judicial instance (Landsréttur) in 2018, and before the Supreme Court in 2023. He has been an independent legal practitioner since 2013, and in company with Einar Oddur Sigurðsson from 2018 to 2023, in the name of E.S. Legal ehf. In 2023 Unnsteinn and Einar joined Lögmál ehf as partners.

Sunna Magnúsdóttir

Sunna Magnúsdóttir was born in Reykjavík 17 July 1986. She passed a matriculation examination at the Commercial College of Iceland in 2006, was awarded a Master degree in law at the University of Iceland in the spring of 2013, and was licensed as a representative in litigation before the district courts at the beginning of 2015. She commenced working with Lögmál ehf 17 September 2013.

Sunna Magnúsdóttir

Þorbjörn Björnson

Attorney

Thorbjorn completed his master’s degree in law from Reykjavík University in 2009 and earned an LL.M. degree with a focus on European and Public International Law from the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2013. He qualified as an attorney in Iceland in 2014. From 2014 to 2017, Thorbjorn practised law, initially with JP Attorneys (Reykjavik) and subsequently in his own practice. Between 2017 and 2025, Thorbjorn served in legal and project management roles within the United Nations system. His prior experience includes research on international courts at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, working as a Committee Secretary with the Icelandic Parliament and as a procurement expert for Alcoa Fjarðaal.
